3. In the 13th year of Jian'an (208), Cao Cao sent his army south to conquer Liu Biao, the herdsman of Jingzhou. During Liu Bei's withdrawal, hundreds of thousands of people from Jingzhou followed him. In a hurry, Liu Bei left Mrs. Gan behind. He and his son Liu Chan, together with Zhuge Liang, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun and dozens of others, fled south on horseback.
